Home Cinema Technology

Space Modern have partnered with home cinema technology experts, Musical Images, to offer a full expert design service for your home cinema, including control equipment and technology. Our home cinema design service includes the design, specification and installation of all home cinema technology from speakers, amplifiers, sub woofers, lighting and screens. Our experts can listen to your project requirements and budget and put together the best technology package for you.

Home Cinema Screens and TV

The focal point of a home cinema will be the TV or cinema screen. We offer a wide range of home cinema screens as well as high definition, flat screen and LCD TV screens.

What suits your home cinema design will depend on personal preference as well as the wall space you have available to dedicate to the screen.

For multi-functional media rooms we are able to install retractable home cinema screens that can be retracted into the ceiling when you are not using it keeping the media room design minimal.

The home cinema screen installed in our showroom is the perfect choice for a true home cinema space. The perforated screen is the same type of projector screen that is used in actual cinemas and allows us to install the main forward speakers directly behind the screen for the most genuine movie viewing.

Home Cinema Projectors

Most home cinema designs will choose a home cinema projector and screen combination to create large format moving images for a true cinema experience.

The experts at Space Modern can help advise you what the best home cinema projector will be for your space, viewing preferences and screen. We are able to offer the latest technology in home projectors from JVC, Sony, Epsom and other leaders in technology.

A new generation of home cinema projectors is available now with 4K enabled viewing for the highest quality of flawless visuals. 4K viewing is now available from Netflix, Amazon Prime and Apple TV with Sky TV in 4K planned for 2017. A 4K home cinema projector will get your home cinema 4K ready right now for you to be able to take advantage of the superior visuals of 4K on all home entertainment.

Home Cinema Sound Systems

The placement and number of speakers that are integrated into your home cinema is vital to the immersive nature of the modern home cinema experiences.

Traditional surround sound set ups include a right, left and centre speaker with two rear/side speakers and one subwoofer. This is known as a 5:1 surround sound set up.

Home Cinema Sound Systems have greatly advanced since the 5:1 speaker configuration became popular in the 70

Dolby Atmos Home Cinema Sound

The Dolby Atmos sound technology is the latest advance in a truly immersive home cinema sound system.. As well as breath-taking sound quality Atmos sound technology turns the visual objects on your screen into 3D sound objects that can be played strategically through well-placed speakers and allows the integrated speaker system to move the sound around you. From a car whizzing past to a bullet of aeroplane; the Dolby Atmos system gives these visuals on screen more movement and depth.

Dolby Atmos also brings height into a home cinema surround sound system with the inclusion of ceiling speakers or upward firing speakers. Our showroom cinema has a 9:2:2 sound system configuration in Dolby Atmos. The 9 refers to the number of traditional speakers at the front, side and rear of the room. The central number 2 refers to the number of sub woofers that are part of the home cinema sound system and the last number 2 refers to the number of ceiling or upward firing speakers. This is a very common and recommended speaker configuration to get the most from an Atmos sound system.

Home Cinema Control Equipment

Whether you want simple wall switches or modern tablet app technology to control your home cinema room we can engineer a system to suit. Home cinema technology, lighting and other technology can all be integrated into one control system for simple operation and minimisation of remote controls to become lost.

Lutron, Creston, Rako and Control4 are all popular control equipment options for your home cinema depending on the complexity of your technology set up and personal preferences for control. All control equipment, amplifiers and stacks can be hidden elsewhere in cupboards or storage leaving you with a modern and simple use interface.

In consultation with the user our home technology experts will be able to engineer the perfect control system for all your technology, even integrating voice activated control. How would it feel to be able to simply tell your control equipment that you wish to start watching the film, the projector will turn on, screen lower, lights dim and you are ready to watch!
